Dana Chisholm – President

Dana Chisholm has lived in thirteen different states throughout her married life.  She mainly focused on being a mother to her three children, discovered enjoyment as an extra in film, and dabbled in writing, including publishing the children’s book A Bark in a Prayer. After escaping her marriage, she found pleasure spending more time with her family and grandsons. Recently, she founded the nonprofit Empowerment Films, making age-appropriate videos raising awareness for domestic violence. She has worked on multiple short projects in school as a sound recorder, editor, and producer, including Associate Producer on “The Playhouse.”  She has focused on sound, producing, and directing to pursue creating independent films for the nonprofit.  She embraced her geek side collecting comics of her favorite characters, attending multiple comic cons in various states, watching various pop culture movies or television shows, and joining the New Avengers of New Mexico. Her three years with this group involved actively participating in cosplay and helping local charities support family and children’s social issues.
Empowerment Films has become her heart in hopes of making a better world. Bringing light to this problem and stopping the stigma so conversation can begin is the only way a difference can happen.  Reaching their level will impact and teach children alternatives to explore in behavior stopping the cycle.
